You’ll find the cream of the Berlin queer scene here, as well as the occasional international celeb slumming it in style (Rupert Everett and, erm, Tara Reid have both been spotted here). Though the city’s radically queer character was dampened as the 20th century wore on, the late 90s and early 2000s saw a revitalization of a legendary nightlife scene that is only getting bigger.

Located on the ground floor of the iconic Berghain nightclub, LAB.ORATORY is a must-visit for fetishists and fans of rubber, leather, and sportswear. With a mix of well-known institutions and hidden gems, there's something for everyone in this welcoming metropolis.

As the Wanderlog team, we’re passionate about uncovering the best spots to socialize and connect with others.

This scene-leading space has a reputation for wild-themed nights and a permissive attitude towards NSFW fun. Think again, my friend.

The population of Schöneberg is largely LGBTQ+ so it makes sense that the district would also serve as the unofficial capital of queer culture in Berlin. Look out for your first newsletter in your inbox soon!

Gay Berlin

In the 1920s there weren’t many places where LGBTQ+ folk could expect to live openly and proudly without fear of oppression, but the Berlin of the Weimar Republic was one such place.

Today, as one of the few gay bars left in Mitte, Betty F*** remains a favourite for gays, hipsters and fashionistas looking for a kickstart to the evening.

As well as being one of Berlin’s most prized museums, the Schwules has a quiet café for those looking for something more downtempo. The Kottywood party is a popular go-to for gays and lesbians looking to cap a Friday night grinding to Latin, retro and pop music.

Each bar has its own unique charm, making it easy to explore and discover new favorites. Seriously, this app does it all!

This site and app let me do all the planning for our 15 day trip in a little over 6 hours! Arrive early for the new talent showcase (always a treat) and stay for the seasoned performers later.

Tucked away in a busy post-industrial complex in Friedrichshain, Zum Schmutzigen Hobby is both bar and club in one.

Located under the round- about housing development at Kottbusser Tor, the mixed (but girl-heavy) crowd enjoy nightly drinks and dancing, as well as many one-off rock parties. Stop by for a beer and stick around for the crowd that streams in as the night descends. Clean, cool, contemporary interiors make this the ideal spot to hunt down some steamy action.

A former beer-slinger from Möbel-Olfe opened this bar for Kreuzberg’s increasingly large gay population in 2010.

Think again, my friend.

Thanks for subscribing! It’s just as celebrated for its queer-friendly rooms that are dedicated to sexual pleasure-seeking. All of this has contributed to the Berlin club’s extreme and one-of-a-kind reputation that has travellers desperate to enter its front doors.

With its warm open-door policy, SilverFuture is as friendly and welcoming as its clientele.

With raging parties and a labyrinthine dark room, there’s a reason Ficken 3000 has become a legend among locals looking for a drink, dance and a flamboyant good time.
