Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods made this Christmas season extra special.

​After five years as a couple, Towns and Woods are engaged.

​Towns proposed to Woods on Christmas Day at Overstory, a rooftop bar in New York City, where he got down on one knee.

​“Merry Christmas,” their joint Instagram post read.

Before the announcement of their engagement, the couple celebrated their first anniversary on Woods’ Instagram series Regular-ish.

That same year, cheating rumors circulated after screenshots of an alleged conversation between the NBA player and another woman surfaced.

However, Karl-Anthony, 28, immediately set the record straight—and nodded to a future engagement.

"So I got the baddest girl in the game and you think I'm gonna waste my energy with anyone else gtfoh!" the athlete wrote.

And it kind of forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more. Last year, when Towns was a four-time All-Star entering his 10th season, the team traded him to the Knicks for Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and a first-round draft pick in a franchise-altering deal for both sides.

A representative for Woods did not immediately respond to the Associated Press’ request for comment.

Towns, known colloquially by his initials KAT, is a Dominican American NBA player who began his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The filter presented a slew of bridal gowns and accessories to be selected, perfect for “building my dream wedding vibe,” she wrote in the video with a laughing emoji.

While she wasn’t a big fan of the bridal get-up, she didn’t mind keeping fans guessing about her impending marital status.

“I don’t really love these choices right now, Jordyn, 27, said, “but since all of you keep asking when I’m getting married, might as well.”

But the questions are pretty justified considering the two have been vocal in the past about the trajectory of their friends-to-lovers relationship.

"I think it's kind of cool dating your best friend,” Jordyn, who began dating Karl-Anthony in 2020, said on her Instagram series Regular-ish in 2021.

“We are the latter,” Towns continued.

“I think it’s kind of cool dating your best friend,” Woods added. Because a lot of people don’t really get to know each other, and they go into this relationship.”

“So, we’ve been through a lot together,” she added. They also shared how the difficult times they endured, including the death of Towns’ mother, Jacqueline, in April 2020.

“Me and Jordyn met years ago, knowing common people and just became friends,” Towns explained.

"We know each other. It was captioned, “I found you, then I found me.”

Woods is an American influencer, model and actor best known for her appearances on the reality shows Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Life of Kylie, the result of her close friendship with Kylie Jenner.

In September 2020, Woods confirmed their relationship on Instagram, sharing a few beach shots of the pair in matching swimsuits. “We were really good friends before we started dating. We know each other on good days and bad days, and we’ve been through a lot of bad days together.”

Towns said that Woods immersed herself in the basketball world.

“It means a lot,” she said of her commitment.

And then we started having a deeper relationship.”

“It just so happened that COVID came and kind of brought its challenges. We know each other's hearts. I’m not saying that way, but just best friends. And COVID gave us that free time in our lives to really get to know each other.
