David Bowie

Known for his far-out and funk-infused pop music, it wasn't necessarily a surprise when David Bowie developed the bisexual alien stage persona of Ziggy Stardust in the early 1970s.

Mika

Mika rose to fame in 2007, with his debut album Life in Cartoon Motion.

Generally, he is best-known for his catchy hits such as “Grace Kelly”, “Lollipop”, and “Relax (Take It Easy)” – and all of them still sound great.

At first, Mika declined to label himself, and he kept his personal life to himself.

Known as the star of one of rock's first girl groups, Joan Jett is equally as famous for her sexuality as her signature raspy bravado.

In the same year "Channel Orange" was released, Ocean took to his Tumblr blog to release a statement thanking the man he had unrequited feelings for when he was 19. With a successful career spanning over six decades, he is considered one of the best gay singers ever.

Coming out publicly in 1992 during an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine marked a pivotal moment for Elton John’s journey and for LGBTQ+ representation within the music industry.

He broke barriers and paved paths for other artists to embrace their sexuality openly.

In addition to being an internationally acclaimed artist, Elton John is known widely for his advocacy work within the LGBTQ+ community.

His music career took off with the release of his debut EP, “TRXYE,” in 2014, followed by the acclaimed album “Blue Neighbourhood” in 2015.

Lil Nas X has since released multiple unabashedly queer songs and music videos that have gained him genre-spanning success, including Billboard chart-toppers like "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" and "Industry Baby."

One of the many musicians from the 1960s who infused soul with rock, Janis Joplin remains cherished decades later.

As a self-proclaimed music and personal finance geek, he has a keen eye for futuristic technologies, especially those that empower creators and the public. Adam Lambert
