The focus here is of course all about the food.
I suggest doing a couple of laps, figuring out what catches your eye and then have a grab and go style meal from a few different outlets.
Osaka Castle
Beautiful by day and even more so by night once the Castle is lit up.
Many people only think of Christ the Redeemer when they hear the name Rio, but there's so much more: the colors, the people, the music, the beaches, the breathtaking views... This was not a big corporate style parade, there were a few small floats and many people walking, dancing and strutting their way for about 90 minutes around Osaka start to finish.
This was a beautiful celebration with a real community feel and attracted over 60k people over the weekend.
Gay Saunas in Osaka

As accommodation facilities, we operate Kyomachiya in Gion, Kyoto, and private lodging in Kouri Island, Okinawa.
Liza House
Liza House is a traditional Japanese old-style house. Osaka Rainbow Festa usually lands in April, with community booths, stage shows, and after-parties that spill into nearby venues.
Again a one room bar but decorated in the most eclectic, vibrant, colourful and bonkers way I have ever seen.
With Mario Kart available to play on the wall, of course karaoke and drinks that were a little too generous, this was a very cool spot to hang out.
Eagle Osaka
Somewhere to finish your night and have a dance…
Eagle Osaka has that age old cheeky ‘Eagle’ vibe with lockers available if you want to remove a few layers.
Downstairs is a stage area and dancefloor and upstairs a large bar area.

For events, aim for the Kansai rainbow season in spring. You get big-city nightlife, great food, and a casual, direct local vibe.

In Georgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we'll immerse ourselves in the multi-ethnic culture with its street food and extraordinary murals telling local stories. It sounds a little restrictive to me but if you want to try it out let me know how it goes.
Price is 1900 – 2300 yen.
Things to do for Gay Travellers in Osaka
Dotonburi
This is the truly iconic area of Osaka with all the bright neon lights and the infamous Glico Running Man poster (must do photo spot).
You can spend a couple of hours exploring the area, taking photos and visiting all the different food spots and shops.
Kuromon Market
Listed as one of the top things to do, a short walk from Dotonburi takes you to Kuromon Market.
You will be spoilt for choice by all the options here and again I would suggest grab and go to try as many different things as possible.
It is also home to the Shinsekai Tower which is another great photo spot.
Wrap up
Osaka is a great destination for LGBTQ+ travellers and a gateway to see more of Japan, make sure that you spend 2 or 3 nights here when you visit this vibrant and unique country!

It is a very a unique ferris wheel in terms of it’s oblong shape and you can expect some beautiful views once you get to the top.
Shinsekai
Osaka really is for foodies and an area well known for its food is Shinsekai. For something different, Konpira Onsen is a local, cruisy bathhouse experience. You’ll get mild evenings for nightlife, good daylight for sightseeing, and a higher chance of Pride-adjacent parties.

Yuntaka
This was a super small and very local bar with just a couple of tables and then seating at the bar.
If you want a calm moment in an intimate space to catch up with friends with food and drinks then this is a good option.
